Working with established feature writers on articles for high end publications and property agencies. I love working on all types of assignments from properties to portraits to products to parties with the aim of achieving the very best images possible. I love the challenge of all types of assignment I have a mobile studio for commercial, product and portrait photography as well as a substantial library of images of coast and countryside and am gradually bringing my back catalogue of water and landsports, music festivals and events photography to online galleries for commercial and private use. I shoot both in the U.K. and abroad.
Portfolio images on this site are initially documentary style using minimal or no photoshop retouching and shot in natural or ambient artificial lighting. Additional galleries of studio portraits and exterior artificial lighting setups will be added soon.
The History bit!
My photography started at age 12 with inheriting my father’s darkroom and processing both black and white and colour films then producing 8mm films.
Sports photography started with surfing whilst travelling the world as an international competitor searching for the “perfect wave” and my images were soon making the covers and editorial features in sports magazines, books “Sunday Times” magazine etc. Over the next 20 years my photography expanded, via my leading U.K. residential watersports centre in Dale, Pembrokeshire, to cover a whole range of watersports such as sailing, windsurfing, rowing and kitesurfing, working with national U.K., European and world champions for major U.K. companies such as “Fat Face”, “Animal”, “ Fosters Lager” the “Royal Yachting Association” and “Visit Wales”, producing Sports, promotional and catalogue pictures. One of the U.K’s first in-water sports photographers in pre “Go pro” days. this led to repeated location shoots in Barbados and photography for tourism resorts in the Canary Islands. A qualified marine health and safety professional, national sports coach and trainer, my rescue boat work has led to driving camera boats for BBC tv’s “The One Show” and “Coast” and assisting on Hollywood production films such as “Robin Hood”. This has given me opportunities to shoot press pictures published in the Times, Daily Express, Financial Times, Metro, Daily Telegraph etc. Driven by the ambition to be the best in the U.K. in whatever field I am working in, I am a passionate believer in what Pembrokeshire and Wales has to offer the visitor. Involved in tourism for around forty years I have brought many watersports champions to the county for photoshoots showcasing the country in various sports magazines.
